About Me & My Intentions
My name is Kelsey McQueen. I am a Christian, a writer, a photographer, an artist, a hostess at a lovely seafood place called Coastal Breeze, a cashier at Shane's Rib Shack, and most relevant to this website; an intern at Davis Middle School.
I am an intern for the lovely, brilliant, and ever-so-talented Mrs. Susan Wehrle there, where I help her in her 8th Grade Literature class. Each day, I help individuals and groups with their various assignments and more challenging material. I have grown so very fond of the students, each one of them is so special and has taught me so much. I cherish them. They are so very smart and creative. However, they just never seemed to be invested, or in love with literature. Worse, they didn't seem to appreciate its value to their education. So, I set out to answer my essential question;
Why is it important to integrate and prioritize literature in every level of education, and how can I defend this to students?
It has been a beautiful year with these beautiful people. I wish them all the most absolutely splendid futures. If any of you guys visit this, I love you, and thank you so much.
Here is the blog I posted on weekly throughout the year documenting the experience;
